GLM Rolls Out New Branding for Select May 2014 Events in New York

New signature mix™ marketplace will feature National Stationery Show®, Creative & Lifestyle Arts™ and, making its debut, Gift>it - Distinctive Gifts. Fabulous Finds.™

WHITE PLAINS, NY, September 10, 2013...GLM today announced plans to introduce “signature mix™ marketplace,” a new branding platform at its spring 2014 events in New York City. Expanding business opportunities for retailers and manufacturers, the “signature mix™” umbrella will include the National Stationery Show® (NSS), Creative & Lifestyle Arts™ (C&LA), and the premiere of Gift>it – Distinctive Gifts. Fabulous Finds™. Together, these events will provide a unique combination of synergistic lifestyle products at a time of year when retailers are refreshing their merchandise and continuing their holiday buying.

Gift>It will feature a selective, diverse assortment of products from among popular leading brands and emerging, young businesses that will complement the offerings in NSS and C&LA. Such products range from decorative objects for the home and office, “kitchen chic,” specialty toys and games, to men’s gifts and gadgets, jewelry and confections.

“Annual events provide unique opportunities that differ from their semi-annual counterparts, largely due to the scope of participants and the content of the event from beginning to end. What’s so exciting here is the product combination within signature mix™ - a first for the industry. It will provide a fresh, new experience for both the thousands of buyers that have attended NSS over the years, as well as attract a breadth of new buyers to the marketplace,” said Patti Stracher, show director.

As part of this evolution, NSS and C&LA will shift to – and Gift>it will launch with – a 10AM start time, facilitating enticing meet-ups and educational events that all marketplace participants can enjoy. “Pre-show events speak to the universal desire of both attendees and exhibitors, to participate in morning-timed, business activities off the Show floor that do not conflict with exhibit hours,” remarked Lynn White, show manager.

“Addressing the combined business needs of retailers and manufacturers in the stationery, lifestyle gift and craft communities with broad-based buying, learning and networking opportunities is GLM’s goal in creating the signature mix™ marketplace”, Charles McCurdy, GLM’s CEO commented. “We expect this marketplace to stand out from other show experiences due to the unique combination of products it will represent and professionals that come together,” he added.

The signature mix™ marketplace will attract a combined, qualified audience of 12,000 senior executives and category buyers from retail giants and specialty chains worldwide, international distributors and owners of independent retail shops. These buyers, along with industry professionals,
major media and manufacturers reps, will experience a show floor that is dynamic and highly creative. The marketplace will run Sunday, May 18, through Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and will feature some 900 exhibiting companies and more than 10,000 product lines. Show hours are Sunday – Tuesday 10 Am – 6PM; Wednesday 10 AM – 1PM.

"The President's budget, like proposals in the House and Senate, continues to assume dramatically exaggerated savings from cutting essential services, and if adopted, would lead to a weaker Postal Service."

"While the GCA supports efforts to enact meaningful and necessary reforms, the bill that was voted through committee today does not provide a commonsense plan that puts the Postal Service in a stronger position to provide universal services."
