What Type of “Connector” Are You?
Champion Connector Your enthusiasm for initiating and nurturing relationships sets an example for everyone you know (and probably prompts them to be better connectors themselves!). Holidays and birthdays are obvious times for you to give a card, but you also use cards to remind people they are special on any given day of the week. Your excitement for cards indicates you have fun picking the right cards and anticipating the smiles they will bring. You might also use cards to reach out and connect with people who are not within your inner circle of family and friends. You are probably identified as the card giver in your crowd and they are lucky to have you!
Courteous Connector Your friends and family can expect to receive a greeting card from you for their birthday and major holidays. You view giving cards on these special days as something you should do and you provide a consistent reminder to those in your lives that they are remembered and special. While taking the time to give these cards, try to make sure you are having fun along the way as well! Just think about the feeling you have when you open the mailbox and see a card – especially when you aren’t expecting one. It makes you feel special doesn’t it!
Casual Connector You might give a card now and then but you don’t really give it much thought. You don’t see the value in giving cards and don’t really believe it can strengthen relationships. This doesn’t mean people in your life aren’t important to you. You just aren’t using cards to connect. It might be time to take the connecting with cards challenge. Take five friends or family members and give them five cards each. Pick holidays or birthdays or just give a card for no reason at all. We bet once you experience their response you’ll be well on your way to being a Champion Connector!
