September 20 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern: Graphic Artists Guild Webinar – Alan Friedman of Great Arrow Graphics and Kathy Alpert of Postmark Press will share their thoughts on a variety of topics important to designers, including what makes great greeting card design, the importance of concept/copy when presenting designs, conducting research, monitoring trends and making contacts, examples of successful artists, and more. This webinar is free to all GCA members. But you must pre-register to take advantage of this special offer.

September and October:Happy Hours” — coming to a city near you……

The GCA is pleased to introduce metro “Happy Hours:” informal gatherings hosted by the GCA in select cities to bring member and non-member greeting card professionals together.  Thanks to Joel and Lauren Gryniewski of Old Tom Foolery and Modern Lore (Twin Cities), Carlos LLanso of Legacy Publishing (Boston area), and Lawrence Yeh of Paper Pop Cards (NYC) for agreeing to host these first three “Happy Hours.”  For more information on hosting or attending a “Happy Hour” in your area, contact Joseph Cox.

All GCA members who care about the future of the mailing industry are welcome to send a representative.  No prior experience talking to legislators about Postal issues or involvement on the GCA’s Postal Affairs Committee is needed.
