DENVER, CO – March 1, 2023, The Greeting Card Association (GCA) is excited to announce that Susan January of Leanin’ Tree Inc. in Boulder, Colorado will fill GCA’s seat on the Keep US Posted Board of Directors. GCA represents over 300 greeting card publishers and retailers who rely on affordable, dependable mail service to get greeting cards to their recipients. Keep US Posted is a community of individual Americans and allied organizations united in the belief that a reliable, affordable U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is essential, and that action must be taken now to protect it.

January is the Vice President of Product Management of Leanin’ Tree, Inc., a 74-year-old manufacturer of greeting cards and gift products. Her primary responsibility is to provide direction for the company’s long-term product strategy, including product planning, allocation and assignment of design and editorial product-related duties, and management of the company’s internal creative and product management staff, as well as to recruit, develop and manage all existing and future external creative resources, across all greeting card and gift product categories.

As a past President of the GCA Board of Directors and a long-time member and contributor to the association’s programs and growth, January has driven change that has advanced the organization’s prestige and reach. She has been an industry speaker and panelist at SURTEX, the International Licensing Expo, the Craft & Hobby Association, and numerous other greeting card and art licensing industry events. Her passion for postal reform is evidenced by her involvement with GCA’s Public Affairs Committee, and she brings this to her new board seat with Keep US Posted.

“I’m honored to be selected to fill this important Keep US Posted board seat on behalf of the Greeting Card Association,” says January. “We often take for granted our access to affordable, dependable mail service that goes that final mile to reach citizens everywhere in the country,” she continues, “but it is something that we must actively work to preserve and protect as postage rates continue to increase while service slows.”

Susan joins fellow Keep US Posted board members Erin Brower, Hallmark; Brett Doyle, Sylvamo; Courtney St. Ong, Domtar; and Maynard Benjamin with the Envelope Manufacturers Association. The board meets quarterly to direct the strategy and activities of Keep US Posted as well as overseeing the financial operations of the organization.

GCA will continue to champion accessible and affordable mail delivery on behalf of the citizen mailer, as 60% of greeting cards purchased in the U.S. are delivered through the USPS.
