Greeting Card Conference
The Greeting Card Association Conference has long served as an important gathering place for the greeting card industry, bringing together publishers, retailers, artists, designers, and other industry professionals. Over the years, the conference has provided a forum for sharing ideas, discussing the changing landscape of the business, building professional relationships, and celebrating the creativity and traditions that make greeting cards such a meaningful part of everyday life.
History
Prior to 2020, the Annual Convention was held in the Fall each year
In 2020, 2021, and 2022, we renamed to Workshop + Retreat and held a virtual conference in the Fall each year. Our virtual offerings included sessions, happy hours, and other networking options.
In 2023, the Workshop + Retreat was held the conference in October in Kansas City, MO, our first time back to in person. We visited the Hallmark HQ and had two days of educational sessions.
In 2024, the Workshop + Retreat went to the mountains and we held the event in Denver, CO in October. We enjoyed the mountain air while learning, networking, and growing.
In 2025, we renamed to the Greeting Card Conference and went to Detroit, MI in October, graciously hosted by Avanti Press. We had 2 days of incredible sessions followed by an evening of Motown music and getting to explore all Detroit has to offer.
In 2026, we went to Louisville, KY in August and held the Louie Awards in conjunction with the Conference for the first time ever. We also offered a mini conference and a full conference so attendees could choose which timeline worked best for them.
