If you’ve wondered why the rates of stamps are universal throughout the United States, read about the history of postage legislation here.
Read an opinion piece from “The Hill” in favor of keeping the pricing system that limits postage increases for the USPS’s captive mailers to the rate of inflation.
The US Postal service recently reported that the number of greeting cards sent by the mail had increased three years in a row. This uptick comes during a time when mail volumes overall are on the decline, and says a lot about the power of the “mail moment” that greeting cards embody.
The GCA supports postal reform, not privatization.

GCA Public Affairs Committee
We engage with a variety of advocacy working groups, and have built a powerful coalition, all of whom are staunch supporters of maintaining the USPS as an independent entity, while also working to maintain six day mail delivery and identify cost-saving initiatives that help to maintain service quality and rate stability. We also support the current real price for single piece, First Class Mail.
