Greeting Card Association Announces 2022-2023 Board of Directors and Advisory Board Members 

DENVER, CO – October 6, 2022, The Greeting Card Association (GCA) has announced changes to its Board of Directors and Advisory Board for 2022-2023. These changes were approved by a vote of GCA’s membership and went into effect on October 1, 2022.  

Brad Woods of Maginating in Kirkwood, Missouri, joins the Board of Directors alongside new Associate Chair, Dan Deardorff of Ecological Fibers in Hanover, Pennsylvania who succeeds Brian Virgona of Stationery Trends and Gift Shop Magazine/Great American Media.  

Directors continuing with the Board of Directors for 2022-2023 are GCA President – Amy McAnarney (Hallmark), Immediate Past President – George White (Up With Paper), Vice President/Treasurer – Andy Meehan (Consultant to Designer Greetings and Madison Park Greetings), Carlos Llanso (Legacy Publishing Group), Kate Murray (Quick Brown Fox Letterpress), Dave Phipps (Avanti Press), Kelly Ricker (American Greetings), and John Smyth (A Smyth Co). 

Alan Friedman of Great Arrow Graphics and Nicky Burton of Calypso Cards have left the board after completing their terms of service. Burton will join the GCA Advisory Board. “GCA is grateful to Alan and Nicky for their dedication to the organization and the passion they bring to the greeting card industry,” says Nora Weiser, GCA Executive Director. “We are fortunate to have benefited from their years of leadership, as well as to have such talented new directors join the Board.” 

In addition to Burton, the 2022-2023 Advisory Board members include Gail Anderson (Universal Presentation Concepts), Alex Burrow (Sublime & Co), Sue Charlier (Leader Paper), Alan Harnik (Notes & Queries), Jory Kate Haslett (Leanin’ Tree), Lindsay Henry (Inklings Paperie), Juliana Kissick (Good JuJu Ink), Jessica Noble (Hallmark Cards), Alyson O’Connor (Rust Belt Love), Ashleigh Pritchard (CharmCat Creative LLC), Tom Shoaf (Biely & Shoaf), Mike Smith (Crown Point Graphics), Victoria Venturi (Paper Epiphanies), and Rafe Wolf (Quilling Card).  

The Board of Directors and Advisory Board will continue to support and work towards GCA’s strategic goals of membership strength and engagement, industry vibrancy, and operational excellence.
