Denver, CO (March 17, 2025) – The Greeting Card Association (GCA) is pleased to announce that Carlos Llansó has succeeded Sierra Bretz as Executive Director of the Association. Llansó, who previously served as GCA’s Director of Strategic Initiatives and has an extensive background in the industry, officially assumes the role effective immediately.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Sierra Bretz for her dedication and leadership during her tenure as Executive Director,” said GCA Board President Andy Meehan of Designer Greetings. “Her contributions have been invaluable in strengthening the association and advancing our mission. We now enthusiastically welcome Carlos Llansó, whose deep industry knowledge and commitment to our members will ensure continued growth and success.”

In addition to this leadership transition, GCA is excited to announce several key additions to its team:

  • Ashley Montoya has joined as Director of Operations, bringing extensive experience in nonprofit management and operational strategy.
  • Kori Sulewski, who has been a vital part of GCA’s success, was recently promoted to Deputy Director, recognizing her dedication and contributions to the organization.
  • Cassy Hemmen has joined as Membership Specialist, enhancing GCA’s engagement with its growing membership base.
  • Marisa Pinette has joined as a Digital Media Specialist, growing GCA’s marketing and social media activity.

These changes position GCA for a strong future, reinforcing its commitment to advocacy, industry engagement, and member support. GCA looks forward to continued success under this new leadership team.
