GREETING CARD ASSOCIATION NAMES CHRISTY KAPROSY PRESIDENT
American Greetings Executive Takes Helm as GCA Continues to Grow Membership, Programs
WASHINGTON, DC – November 15, 2017 – The Greeting Card Association (GCA) elected Christy Kaprosy, president, American Greetings’ Papyrus-Recycled Greetings Company and American Greetings’ Group Vice President of Marketing, Innovation and Business Development its new president. She will serve a two-year term and succeeds Carlos LLansó, CEO of Legacy Publishing Group.
“I’m thrilled to lead the GCA as a new generation of greeting card senders defines exciting new ways to use our industry’s diverse spectrum of products,” said Kaprosy. The GCA’s broad membership continues to design products that appeal to and complement the sending customs of today’s engaged shoppers, and I look forward to working with our members to advance the GCA’s initiatives so the industry can continue to thrive,” she said.
Since joining American Greetings, Kaprosy has worked in a variety of areas including product management, marketing and sales. She has also served in a series of executive leadership roles such as managing the company’s major retailer accounts, business intelligence and marketing. Kaprosy earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University (Ohio) and an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University.
In addition to naming Kaprosy, the GCA announced the following Executive Committee appointments: Nicky Burton (Calypso Cards) named Committee member; Jason Evans (Birchcraft Studios) named Treasurer and George White (Up With Paper), named Vice President.
