Denver, CO (August 2, 2021) Thinking of You Week is September 20-26, 2021, and its goal is to celebrate the joy of sending and receiving hand-written notes and greeting cards – just because. Sponsored by the non-profit Greeting Card Association (GCA), Thinking of You Week is a great time for consumers to send cards and letters to family and friends to let them know that they are thinking of them. Retailers should be sure to stock up on Thinking of You themed cards now, so great choices will be on hand for their customers for the September event.
“Thinking of You Week is always a great time for consumers to send cards,” says George White, GCA President. “The pandemic kept friends and family apart, but certainly further enhanced the value of greeting cards to further relationships while apart. Thinking of You Week helps us all remember the importance of connection and is also a terrific way for makers and retailers to partner to make ‘just because’ cards available for consumers.”
This year, GCA is helping retailers make the most of Thinking of You Week by hosting a Stock-Up Event exclusively through its online B2B sales platform, the GCA Marketplace. The GCA Marketplace features more than 80 card brands and 30,000+ greeting card designs. Retailers who place orders August 3-5 will find Show Specials, be eligible for prizes, and have a chance to explore the only marketplace exclusively focused on greeting cards. By placing orders this week, the cards will be in stores in advance of Thinking of You Week. Below is just a sampling of the 36 publishers who are offering specials during the GCA Marketplace event, and you can view the full list here.
- Just My Type Letterpress

Retailers can also be a part of Thinking of You Week in other ways by visiting the Thinking of You Week website for ideas on how to get involved, engage consumers, and host their own in-store promotions. Using the Thinking of You Week Toolkit, retailers can download printable flyers, posters, and postcards as well as ready-to-go digital assets to help promote the event and spread the word online, through social media, and via email.
