Plans for implementation of the 10% tariffs on a range of products imported from China will not include greeting cards, at least initially. The US Trade Commission announced that the tariff on our category and some others should be delayed until December 15th. Though not out of the woods entirely, the three-and-a-half-month delay will ensure that products intended for the 2019 holiday season will not be impacted by higher tariffs. A copy of the press release from the USTR may be found here. The news has also heartened greeting card makers in the UK. See this article in PGBUZZ.net here.
