LOUIE Awards: Street Pop!

The 2018 LOUIE Awards program is in full swing, with a “Street Pop” theme and an edge that will be notably different from past awards programs.

“The Gala event itself will be a major departure from past programs”, states Molly DelMestro, Creative Chair for the 2018 LOUIEs and VP, Creative, Viabella.   Stay tuned for more information regarding our new, exciting venue and our plans to celebrate the industry’s creativity and innovation.

Have you submitted your cards to the LOUIEs?  Many members and non-members alike received an early holiday gift when they took advantage of the early-bird savings.  But there is still plenty of time to submit your cards for review by our team of judges. The deadline to submit your entries is January 5, 2018.  The live judging session will be held during NY Now (February 6-7).  We’ll feature profiles of our judges in an upcoming issue of Card Talk.

A special thank you to these Associate members for their in-kind contributions, which made the beautiful Call for Entries poster possible: Infinity® Foils Inc. (foil); J.S. McCarthy Printers (printing and foil stamping); Leader Paper Products (envelope printing and converting); Neenah Paper (paper) and Universal Engraving, Inc. (engraved foil stamping dies).

GCA Members Convene in Atlanta on January 12th

GCA is heading to Atlanta for our annual get-together at AmericasMart™.  But this year, we’re saving those of you who are exhibiting at the Mart a few steps!  We look forward to welcoming you in Building 1 of the Mart, rather than a nearby hotel.  Please bring a guest and RSVP, or contact GCA Meetings Associate Maggie McDonnell, no later than Friday, January 5, 2018.

Back by Popular Demand…. The GCA Village

We had such a good time, that we are coming back! The GCA Village will return to the 2018 Stationery Show in NYC this May.  For those GCA members who want a presence at the Show but may not need a large exhibit space — or may not have the staff or product lines to support a large space, join us at the GCA Village; it’s the perfect hybrid.  We have a large footprint at the show where GCA Villagers are provided their own branded space.  GCA staff and volunteers help with set-up, staffing the booth and tear-down to make it as easy as possible for you to have a presence at – and walk the Show.  The price for 2018 is expected to be announced soon, but we are already at 50% capacity!  If you’re interested in joining the Village, contact GCA Executive Director Peter Doherty.
